SUPPORT TECHNICIAN Excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems and software Excellent knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures (desktops and servers) Working knowledge of Server hardware systems such as RAID, Tape Drives Clear understanding of Windows Event logs and how to identify problems Good knowledge of Backup software, devices, (and NTBackup) troubleshooting Experience with remote support applications and techniques (e.g. VPN, RDP and VNC) Working knowledge of Active Directory administration: creating user accounts, resetting passwords, disabling and deleting users. Experience with server maintenance and health checks on server Working knowledge of server software and systems Good knowledge of TCP\IP networking is required. LAN, 802.11x, DNS, DHCP Good knowledge of Microsft ISA Server 2004 & 2006
Qualifications: Working Experience in an environment that requires as much of the above is more important than academic qualifications. Matriculation certificate. A+, Server+, N+ or similar qualification MCSE or MCSA (on Windows Server 2003) qualification
BLADE SERVER ENGINEER Provide administration and technical support on a Microsoft BackOffice Server infrastructure and providing general technical consulting on systems to clients and field service engineers. Co-operate with sales and support personnel on client requirements and needs. Assist junior staff members in technical functions. Good knowledge of a Microsoft Backoffice server infrastructure. Must be self motivated and a good team player. Excellent problem solving skills. HP hardware certification. Required level of Education: NQF Level 4 MCSE 2003 or MCITP.
Previous Experience: Minimum 3 years working experience in a Microsoft Server 2003 and/or Server 2008 environment. Experience in deploying and supporting server blade technologies.
